The Palestinian Businesswomen ‘s Association “ASALA” has finished disbursing 22 concessional loans to beneficiaries of “Mostaqbali” program - future program, with the aim of contributing to improving the economic situation and creating sustainable job opportunities for young orphans and their families.
These loans come under the project "Improving the economic situation and creating sustainable job opportunities for young orphans and their families through concessional loans - the ninth year" funded and supervised by “Taawon” Foundation.
The concessional Loans program helped to establish and develop 22 small income-generating projects, where Ms. Aisha Al-Mussamaha, one of the mothers beneficiaries, says: “By obtaining the loan, I managed to create my own project, which is a grocery store, and it helped improve the family’s income, and created two job opportunities for my two unemployed sons from the work."
The loans disbursing process was preceded by a set of trainings for beneficiaries in project management, which included identifying marketing and its importance, the marketing mix and its elements, the art of negotiation, the importance of financial planning, preparing the project budget as well as the mechanism of recording purchases and sales in the project and preparing feasibility studies for their projects in pursuit of building their capabilities and empower them to manage their projects.
The future program is an integrated program that was launched in 2009 immediately after the Israeli Attack on Gaza, and was designed to extend over 22 years to enable orphans in Gaza and provide them with a decent life through providing educational opportunities, the elements of physical and mental health and skills that lead them to be producers and actors in society.
The program represents a partnership between the Abraaj Group from the private sector and the non-profit foundation “Taawon”
