Represented by its Executive Director Mrs. Rajaa Rantisi, the Palestinian Businesswomen’s Association, Asala, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Palestinian Standards and Metrology Institute, represented by its General Director Mr. Haydar Hajjah, with the aim of join cooperation.
During the meeting held at the headquarters of the Standards and Metrology Institution, the two parties discussed ways of cooperation and partnerships, to support women owners of small projects in the association, as well as provide the necessary training of good manufacturing practices and food safety to obtain high-quality and competitive products.
Mrs. Rantisi stressed that this step comes as part of the association's strategic vision, which works to improve women's products, in order for them to reach markets with the highest standards, in addition to ensuring the participation of women in the local market in accordance with social justice standards that reflect the Asala Association's mission.

Mr. Hajjah pointed to the institution’s role in providing guidance and issuing specifications for traditional agricultural products, with the aim of supporting small industries to advance and compete in the market and obtain the institution’s certificates, through which all production inputs are fully and effectively verified to ensure compliance and achieving quality standards.
It is noteworthy that this agreement comes within the framework of the project of social innovation in the agri-food sector to empower women in the Mediterranean region, InnovAgroWoMed, funded by the European Union within the ENI CBCMED program.
