The Palestinian Businesswomen Association – Asala, the Palestinian partner in the MedBEESinessHubs project will implement a technical training in handcrafting honeybee products in Asala training hall in Ramallah with the participation of 20 beekeepers, mostly women from all over the West Bank.

The training which will be implemented in Ramallah, will span four consecutive days between 13th and 18th December 2022,  under the framework of the project “Mediterranean Bee Hubs in support for sustainable economic prosperity in deprived rural areas”, which is implemented in five countries (Palestine, Cyprus, Egypt, Italy, and Lebanon).

The training will focus on manufacturing products that are important and much required at the local market level. The participants will be trained on producing candles, the process of extracting beeswax, pollen, and propolis.

In addition, the training will provide the participants with skills of producing aloe vera beeswax, propolis-enriched creams, and turmeric honey soap.

It is worth mentioning that MedBEESinessHubs aims to support the economies of rural communities in Cyprus, Egypt, Italy, Lebanon, and Palestine through the empowerment of local residents, especially youth, and networking among them in order to develop handmade honeybee products, related businesses, and tourism service networks, which in turn contributes to building a sustainable economy based on the honeybee sector in the Mediterranean.
