ASALA organizes roundtable meeting about low participation of women entrepreneurs

The Palestinian Businesswomen’s Association “ASALA” organizes yesterday a roundtable meeting to discuss the challenges which limit the women entrepreneur participation in the different structures of the chambers of commerce, and in its elections, which are being undertaken in the West Bank. 

Mrs. Rajaa Rantisi, the Chairwoman  of the Palestinian Businesswomen’s Association “ASALA”, said that ASALA is working on the economic and social women empowerment and the importance of these meetings in achieving its goals.

 From his side, Mr. Khalil Rizq, the President of The Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce, thanked the campaign partners and confirmed on the importance of these projects on the women empowerment and their awareness.

The Palestinian Businesswomen’s Association “ASALA” organizes yesterday a roundtable meeting to discuss the challenges which limit the women entrepreneur participation in the different structures of the chambers of commerce, and in its elections, which are being undertaken in the West Bank. 

Mrs. Rajaa Rantisi, the Chairwoman  of the Palestinian Businesswomen’s Association “ASALA”, said that ASALA is working on the economic and social women empowerment and the importance of these meetings in achieving its goals.

 From his side, Mr. Khalil Rizq, the President of The Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce, thanked the campaign partners and confirmed on the importance of these projects on the women empowerment and their awareness. 

 The participants recommended that a policy paper should be prepared to clarify the inclusiveness of the representative of the entrepreneurs in the chambers, and request legislative amendments regarding the nomination and the incentives to encourage affiliation, as well as the provided services evaluation, the responsiveness to the women entrepreneur and enhancing the role of the gender units.

 It is worth mentioning that The Palestinian Businesswomen 's Association “ASALA” is implementing a national campaign aimed at enhancing women's access to the chambers of commerce, within the project of GROW, which is implemented by CowaterSogema company in partnership with the ASALA Association and the Near East Foundation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and funded by the Government of Canada.
