The Palestinian Businesswomen’s Association – ASALA will hold a sustainable beekeeping training for beginners on 26 and 27 October 2026 in Ramallah, as part of the PLANBEE – Promoting Local Apiary Networks and Bee Entrepreneurial Excellence project, co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme.
The two-day, 16-hour training is designed for people who are interested in beekeeping and would like to gain the basic knowledge and practical skills needed to get started in the sector.
Over the two days, participants will be introduced to the main principles of sustainable beekeeping, from understanding bees and their colonies to the basics of establishing and managing an apiary. The training will also address bee health, common diseases and pests, and sustainable practices that can help maintain healthy and productive colonies.
Alongside the technical sessions, participants will take part in practical exercises and discussions and will have the opportunity to learn through the simulation tool used within the PLANBEE project. This approach will allow participants to explore different beekeeping situations in an interactive way and better connect what they learn during the training with practical situations they may encounter in the field.
Through this training, ASALA aims to give people who are new to beekeeping a practical introduction to the sector and a stronger foundation for taking their first steps in sustainable beekeeping.
The training is part of ASALA’s activities in Palestine under the PLANBEE project, which works to strengthen local capacities in beekeeping and promote more sustainable and innovative practices within the sector.
The project entitled “Promoting Local Apiary Networks and Bee Entrepreneurial Excellence” – PLANBEE Project, is co-funded by the EU under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme with a total budget of €2,807,656 and a co-financing of €2,498,813.84.
